Robert Stewart Sorah, 70, of Route 1, Surgoinsville, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Surgoinsville and a retired employee of Southern Railway System with 52 years of service. He was active in civic affairs and was a former city councilman. At the time of his death, he served on the civil service board, the planning commission and the utilities district board of Surgoinsville.
