Arnold Jones of Kingsport died Sunday evening (Aug 30 1987) of an apparent heart attack Born in Hawkins County he had spent most of his life in Kingsport and was a member of Litz Manor Baptist Church He was a veteran of World War II and retired from AFG Industries in 1980 Mr Jones was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a member of Masonic Lodge No 688 and the Sullivan County Scottish Rite Club He was also a member of Kingsport Council No 117 Lynn Bachman Chapter No 195 Kingsport Commandery No 33 the Jericho Shrine Temple and Liberty Chapter No 198 of the Order of Eastern Star Surviving Tenn she came to Kingsport in 1939 after graduating from the University of Virginia Mrs Ferrell taught school in the Kingsport City School System from 1939 to 1948 and was later employed as a marketing consultant with Silver-Bur-dette until her retirement in 1975 She lived in Cincinnati Ohio from 1957 until 1980 when she came back to Kingsport Mrs Ferrell was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma the National Retired Teachers' Association and the First Broad Street United Methodist Church She was preceded in death by her husband Alvie Ferrell in 1978 Surviving are one sister Mrs Martin (Margaret) Long Kingsport two brothers Charles Booth Danville Calif and Eugene Booth San Matao Calif seven nieces and nephews eight great-nieces and great-nephews A memorial service will be conducted
